New Head Coach Appointed at Conwell-Egan
Langhorne, PA – Conwell-Egan Catholic High School has named Brian O’Hara as their new head football coach, promoting him from his position as an assistant coach. O’Hara replaces Jack Techtmann, who stepped down in December after 14 successful seasons leading the Eagles.
O’Hara, a 1978 graduate of Bishop Egan, has been a part of the school’s football program since 2019, coaching both the offensive and defensive lines. Under his guidance, the Eagles have shown impressive performance, including an 8-4 season last year where they won the PIAA District 12 Class 3A championship.
“We are thrilled to have Brian take the reins and extend the tradition of excellence established by coach Techtmann,” said Mike Miller, the Conwell-Egan athletic director. O’Hara is well acquainted with the school’s football culture, previously coaching the offensive lines at schools like Archbishop Wood and Neshaminy.
Techtmann, who graduated from Bishop Egan as well, led the Eagles to three district titles during his tenure. His teams were recognized for their competitive spirit, particularly after their district title win last season. The Eagles then faced a tough challenge in the state tournament, where they lost to the eventual champion, Northwestern Lehigh.
With a good number of core players returning, O’Hara will look to build on the success of the past seasons. “Brian’s dedication to CEC will ensure that the positive trajectory of the program will continue to advance,” Miller added, expressing confidence in O’Hara’s capable leadership.
As the Eagles prepare for the upcoming football season, all eyes will be on O’Hara to guide the team toward continued success.
