Muskogee Football Welcomes New Head Coach Dale Condict and Offensive Coordinator Mason Fine

Muskogee has made a significant move in its high school football program this week. The new head coach, Dale Condict, who has an impressive legacy with six state championships in his prior 20 seasons at Wagoner, confirmed a major hiring decision. Mason Fine, a former standout quarterback and the most prolific passer in Oklahoma high school football history, has joined the staff as the offensive coordinator.

Fine, who played at Locust Grove between 2012 and 2015, went on to have a successful college career at North Texas, passing for an impressive 12,505 yards and 93 touchdowns. After three seasons in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Fine transitioned to coaching, initially working as a quarterback instructor in the Mayes County area. He caught the attention of Condict while coordinating the offense for the Salina Wildcats, leading them to a successful seven-win season.

“Coach Condict called me and wanted to talk football. I had no idea it would lead to this opportunity,” Fine said. Excited about learning under Condict’s guidance, he emphasized his eagerness to get started.

During the interview process, Condict expressed his admiration for Fine’s intelligence and focus. “He’s an intelligent guy and very confident. I was very impressed during the interview,” said Condict. The decision to bring Fine onboard has now been made officially, pending approval from Muskogee Public Schools.

Along with Fine, Condict has also secured assistant coaching positions for several former Wagoner coaches. This includes Travis Bryant as the defensive coordinator and Rob Gilstrap as the secondary coach. Notably, Condict’s son, Austin Condict, will join as the linebackers coach, bringing in a wealth of experience from his own championship teams.

In recent years, Muskogee football has seen some strong performances, including a successful campaign with a 6AII championship last season. With this experienced and talented coaching staff, the Roughers aim to build on that success and strive for another championship.

Fans of Muskogee football are eager to see how these changes will impact the team’s future, as both Condict and Fine are driven to develop a competitive program in Class 6AII.
