RICHMOND, Texas – Former NFL star Adrian Peterson has found himself in legal trouble once again, as there are active warrants for his arrest. This news comes from reports stating that the 2012 NFL MVP failed to appear in court for two child support cases in Fort Bend County, Texas. The county sheriff’s department has yet to confirm the reports.
Peterson’s publicist, Denise White, addressed the situation, stating that the legal issues stem from a misunderstanding regarding Adrian’s court appearances. She assured that he is working closely with his legal team to remedy the situation as quickly as possible, emphasizing his commitment to moving forward positively.
Despite a successful NFL career where he earned more than $100 million, Peterson has had financial struggles. Court documents from February revealed that he owes $8.3 million to DeAngelo Vehicle Sales LLC, a debt that was established more than three years prior. Additionally, he was instructed to pay a creditor $2.4 million in 2019 and had previous obligations with a Minnesota bank.
Peterson’s legal troubles are not new. In 2014, he faced serious allegations of reckless injury to a child after an incident involving his son. He later pleaded no contest to the charges. More recently, in 2022, he was arrested following an incident on a plane with his wife, but those charges were dropped after she stated it was simply an argument.
On the field, Peterson holds several significant records, including rushing for 14,918 yards throughout his career and leading the league in rushing three times. He is also one of only six running backs to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season, nearly breaking the all-time record in 2012. Notably, he still holds the record for the most rushing yards in a single game with 296 yards, a feat he achieved during his rookie season.
As Peterson works to resolve these issues, fans of the former running back will be watching closely to see how this situation unfolds.
