NFL Awards Survey Highlights Josh Allen and Saquon Barkley as Frontrunners for MVP and Offensive Player of the Year

In Buffalo, the excitement surrounding the AFC East champions continues as high-ranking NFL executives shared their early awards survey, showcasing the standout players of the season. The survey included insights from 27 NFL teams, with 17 general managers weighing in on who should be recognized in various categories.

This year’s frontrunner for Most Valuable Player (MVP) is none other than Josh Allen, who captured 22 out of 27 votes. Critics questioned whether the Bills would struggle after trading Stefon Diggs, yet Buffalo has been thriving, averaging 31.8 points per game and achieving a remarkable 68.9% red-zone touchdown percentage. Allen has contributed 37 total touchdowns, ranking him alongside Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow for the NFL lead. His latest games have been extraordinary, with 14 touchdowns, zero turnovers, and no sacks taken.

In the race for Offensive Player of the Year, Saquon Barkley of the Eagles took 19 votes, proving his value after joining Philadelphia from the Giants. With 316 touches and leading the league in rushing yards, he’s on track for a potential 2,000-yard season.

T.J. Watt remains a dominant force in the league, winning Defensive Player of the Year with 13.5 votes. Holding the lead in tackles for loss and forced fumbles, Watt shows no signs of slowing down. Following him was Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain II, who received 3.5 votes.

In a surprising turn, the Rookie of the Year race saw Jayden Daniels edge out tight end Brock Bowers with 13 votes to 9, thanks to his impressive passing stats. The Commanders are benefiting from the resurgence under new leadership, and Daniels is proving pivotal to their success.

As for the Coach of the Year category, Kevin O’Connell looks to take home the title, garnering 16.5 votes. His exemplary work with the Vikings has them in contention for the NFC North title, despite roster challenges.

In the Executive of the Year category, Brad Holmes of the Lions narrowly beat out Bills’ GM Brandon Beane with 6 votes, exemplifying his successful draft classes that have shaped Detroit’s roster.

With the NFL regular season entering its final weeks, awards season is heating up. The performances of these standout players underscore the thrilling nature of this NFL season and keep fans on the edge of their seats.
