In Houston, high school football playoffs brought plenty of excitement this past Saturday, with teams across various regions battling it out for a spot in the next round. The competition was fierce, showing off skillful plays, great teamwork, and stellar individual performances.
In the Region I Quarterfinals, North Crowley came out strong against Allen, winning decisively with a score of 35-7. Southlake Carroll also had an impressive performance, defeating Denton Guyer in a nail-biter that ended 56-45.
Moving to the Region II Quarterfinals, Duncanville secured a solid victory over Cypress Bridgeland with a score of 31-13, while Longview dominated De Soto at 50-14.
In Region III, Galena Park North Shore set the tone with a convincing win against Humble Atascocita, clocking in at 49-21. Humble Summer Creek showcased their strength by shutting out Humble Kingwood with a score of 51-7.
Other noteworthy matches included Denton Ryan edging out Aledo with a close score of 31-21 in Region I and Angleton narrowly defeating La Porte at 24-21 in Region III.
In the semifinals, Gordon showed impressive offense against Abbott, finishing at 77-36. Oakwood managed a thrilling win over Oglesby, with a last-minute strike that ended with 54-51.
The championship matches featured Argyle Liberty Christian taking down Dallas Parish Episcopal at 45-24 and FW All Saints triumphing over Houston Second Baptist with a score of 21-3.
