Kansas City-Area Teams Shine at Missouri High School Football State Championships

Columbia, Missouri – High school football reached thrilling heights in Missouri this weekend as several Kansas City-area teams battled for state championships. The Show-Me Bowl games were held at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium in Columbia and Spratt Stadium in St. Joseph, displaying a weekend full of exciting football action.

The Class 5 Show-Me Bowl played out with great intensity as Platte County took on Helias Catholic. The game quickly became one-sided, with Platte County racing to a stunning 21-0 lead in the first quarter. They added 35 unanswered points before Helias Catholic managed to score. Quarterback Rocco Marriott had an impressive performance, completing 17 of 24 passes for 279 yards, plus two touchdowns. He also contributed two rushing touchdowns, showcasing his versatility on the field.

Meanwhile, in the Class 1 Championship, Adrian faced off against Penney in a tight matchup. After a competitive first half, Adrian pulled away to secure a 34-13 victory. Colton Miller played a crucial role with both passing and rushing touchdowns, helping his team run for a total of 237 yards on the day.

Over at Spratt Stadium, the Missouri 8-Man Football State Championship saw North Shelby and Archie clash. North Shelby held a narrow lead with three first-half touchdowns from Gannon Bowen, but Archie stormed back in the second half, outscoring their opponents 32-0 for a decisive 48-20 win. This marked Archie’s second consecutive state championship and a perfect 14-0 season.
