LINCOLN, Neb. — Friday night marked an exciting round of high school football playoff games across Nebraska. Several teams battled it out for the chance to move forward in the playoffs, and the results showcased some thrilling matchups.

In one of the standout games, Omaha Skutt Catholic managed to come from behind to defeat Seward with a final score of 42-21. This victory pushed the Sky Hawks forward while unfortunately ending the Blue Jays’ season.

In another nail-biter, Wahoo Bishop Neumann secured a narrow win against Battle Creek. The only touchdown came from a pass by Beau Fijan to Marcus Woita, making the final score 6-0 in favor of the Cavaliers.

In Class A, Omaha Westside dominated Omaha North with a score of 47-21, while Millard South showed strength against Kearney winning 49-14. The Class B game featured Bennington edging out Elkhorn North with a score of 16-7.

Class C-1 saw Central City take down Sidney with a score of 29-12, and Wahoo dominated Auburn delivering a score of 59-7.

In Class C-2, Norfolk Catholic finished strong against Kearney Catholic, winning by a score of 35-13. The Class D-1 playoffs had Sandy Creek convincingly beating Lourdes Central Catholic 63-8, and Stanton also came out on top over Summerland, scoring 48-34.

Finally, in Class D-2, Central Valley crushed the Archangels Catholic team 50-8, with Riverside following suit, defeating Bruning-Davenport/Shickley 50-20. In Class D-6, Stuart finished strong with a score of 52-20 against Hay Springs, and Sumner-Eddyville-Miller won over Garden County 38-12.

As teams advance in the playoffs, fans are eagerly looking forward to the next round of thrilling high school football action.
