As of October 17, the On3 Massey Ratings have revealed the top 25 Nebraska high school football teams poised for playoff action in 2024. These standings are crucial as teams head into the final stretch of the regular season, providing a morale boost to players and fans alike.

This year, the Westside Warriors remain the top team in the state with an impressive record. In their latest game, they defeated Elkhorn South with a staggering 45-3 score, underscoring their dominance. Standout player Tay Tay Jenkins starred with an incredible performance, netting 127 receiving yards, 132 rushing yards, and scoring three touchdowns. With only a few games left, the Warriors aim to solidify their top ranking by taking on Creighton Prep next.

Hot on their heels is the Bennington Badgers, known for their strong defense. They have only allowed 35 points across their seven victories, with their most recent win being a simple 7-0 against Elkhorn Antlers. Players like Cooper Johnson and Will Gutz have been key contributors, bringing their team to a solid 7-0 record. But their upcoming challenge against Skutt Catholic and Elkhorn North will test their mettle.

The Millard South Patriots look to extend their winning streak after a dominant showing against Lincoln High, scoring an incredible 63 points by halftime, leading Lincoln to forfeit. Jett Thomalla led the scoring spree with multiple touchdown passes, while their defense shone with 13.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.

Meanwhile, the Wahoo Warriors continue to roll, defeating Logan View with a crushing 63-6 score. Kip Brigham powered the offense with an impressive 183 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

The Bluejays of Seward are also in the spotlight, extending their winning streak to seven games with a nail-biting 20-13 victory over Blair. On October 18, they have the chance to advance to an 8-0 record when they host York.

As for the Elkhorn South Storm, they currently sit within the top ten despite a tough loss to Westside. They will look to bounce back strong against Norfolk Senior, with a high chance of victory projected.

With the playoffs drawing near, it’s an exciting time for high school football in Nebraska. Each team is on the hunt for glory and a chance to showcase their skills on the big stage.
