The fans are invited to help choose the top athlete of the week from a list of 10 nominees for the Florida Panhandle Football Player of the Week award from October 7-12.

Fans can vote as often as they like, encouraging engagement and the celebration of local athletes. This week’s nominees feature impressive performances from several players across various teams. One of the highlights comes from a Mississippi State commitment, who dazzled spectators with 266 rushing yards and five touchdowns in a thrilling 37-28 victory over Niceville.

Another standout is a Gators quarterback who led his team to a 35-21 win over Pensacola, throwing for 200 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Meanwhile, in a dominating 52-16 victory, Nettles rushed for 148 yards on 17 attempts, also finding the end zone three times.

Other nominees include a running back from Cottondale, who rushed for an astonishing 338 yards and scored four touchdowns in a nail-biting 56-53 win. Johnson, on the other hand, amassed 291 all-purpose yards and threw for two touchdowns, while another player was key in his team’s 21-13 victory over Sneads.

The polls close at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, with the winner announced in the following week’s poll. The voting system aims to create fun and spirited support for high school athletics without any awards tied to the outcome.
