No. 1 St. Edward faced off against No. 7 Elder and secured a close victory with a final score of 24-17. This win reinforces that St. Edward is on track for another successful season as they look to defend their three consecutive Division I state championships.
Looking ahead, this Friday promises to be exciting as St. Edward prepares to host No. 3 Massillon Washington. The Eagles will be looking to avenge last year’s narrow 15-13 loss to the Tigers, making this matchup potentially the game of the year.
No. 2 Hoban also made waves last week, dominating Akron East with a score of 42-6 to improve their record to 3-1. The Knights are eager to return to the state championship after falling short to Massillon Washington last season. Their defense, which ranks No. 2 in Ohio, is led by Eli Lee and Elbert Hill.
