Dallas, Texas – As Week 3 of the 2024 Texas high school football season wraps up, sports enthusiasts eagerly dive into the latest SportsDayHS rankings announced today. These rankings reflect feedback from a panel of writers and editors who evaluated the performances of each team, with the scoring system favoring the top teams significantly.

This week, teams in the 6A and 5A categories were awarded points based on their standings, where the top spot received 20 points, the second 19, and so on. The 4A schools received a reduced scoring scale of up to five points, while private institutions peaked at 10 points. The methodical tallying led to a clear presentation of which teams secured notable positions in the rankings.

Four standout teams faced each other in significant matchups last week. Both North Crowley and Southlake Carroll emerged victorious against their rivals, Denton Guyer and Byron Nelson, respectively. Following a tough 49-28 defeat, Guyer fell two spots in the rankings and now stands at No. 7. Byron Nelson also slipped, dropping from No. 8 to No. 11 after a 33-21 loss.

In other notable occurrences, Prosper Walnut Grove made the most incredible leap, climbing six spots to secure a position in the top 10 after edging out Frisco Emerson with a tight 29-28 game. Additionally, Colleyville Heritage moved up after a convincing 41-14 win over The Colony, which fell three spots as a result.

In the Class 4A scene, Kimball, now competing at a lower level after a drop from 5A, pushed hard against Midlothian, but ultimately faced a close 36-33 loss. Notably, the match between Trinity Christian-Addison and Life High School delivered a dominating score of 63-12, allowing TCA to sneak into the rankings, tying with Covenant School at No. 10.
