Oregon High School Football Rankings Shake-Up Ahead of Friday’s Games

Medford, OR – As another exciting weekend of Oregon high school football approaches, the On3 Massey Ratings have released their latest top 25 rankings, revealing a mix of shifts among local teams. With games scheduled for September 13, several teams have seen changes in their standings following an action-packed start to the 2024 season.

This week, South Medford is making a noticeable climb as they moved up two spots in the rankings. Other teams to improve their positions include Sheldon, Silverton, and Thurston. While no teams suffered major drops, Lake Oswego, Jesuit, Sprague, and West Salem all fell by one spot in the ratings.

Getting into the details, West Linn is holding the top position after a commanding 51-14 victory over the Eagle Mustangs. Strong performances from Josiah Molden, a cornerback, and tight end Baron Naone set a high standard for the season. Analysts predict they will continue their winning streak against Sherwood, Sumner, and Skyview in upcoming games.

Following closely behind at No. 2 are the Rams, who remain undefeated after their Class 6-A state championship victory last year. With wins over Leilehua (35-15) and Central Catholic (45-29), they are expected to continue the momentum against Sam Barlow, Clackamas, and Gresham.

The Tualatin Timberwolves have made waves as well, capturing the third spot after a dominant 54-19 win over Jesuit. Star player Zhaiel Smith made headlines with a 97-yard kickoff touchdown return and two touchdown catches. They will look to keep their winning ways going against South Salem.

Meanwhile, Sheldon, now sitting at fifth in the rankings, opened their season strong with a 43-13 win against Tigard. Running back Mana Tuioti and wide receiver Rocco Graziano showed impressive form, further solidifying their aspirations for a successful year.

As we prepare for games this Friday, fans across the state will be watching closely to see how teams adapt and if they can build on their successes or overcome early challenges. With the excitement of high school football in full swing, every game counts toward playoff aspirations in The Beaver State.
