Peters Township High School Football: Excitement Builds as Rankings Shift and Teams Clash

Peters Township is buzzing with excitement as high school football ramps up across Pennsylvania. Just a couple of weeks before September, teams have already jumped into the action, making the most of the cooler weather, which is now dipping back to comfortable temperatures in the 50s overnight.

This year, a change has swept through the state rankings, with several teams making notable moves. In a significant shake-up, six teams fell out of the Trib HSSN state rankings, paving the way for six new entrants. The teams that dropped out include Central Catholic, Manheim Central, Selinsgrove, Wyomissing, Farrell, and Lackawanna Trail. On the other hand, the new teams that have joined the fray are West Lawn Wilson, Garnet Valley, Jersey Shore, Scranton Prep, Taylor Riverside, and Clairton.

The top-ranked teams have remained steady despite some upsets. St. Joe’s Prep continues to hold its ground at No. 1 in 6A, even after a loss in its opening game against St. Edwards (Ohio). The same goes for Peters Township in 5A, who remain undefeated at 2-0.
