Basketball Highlights
Basketball fans were treated to some amazing games already as teams battled it out on the court. One standout performance came from Montpelier, who achieved a remarkable victory over Harwood with a score of 68-57. This win marks their fifth consecutive D-II championship! Leading the pack was Carter Bruzzese who lit up the scoreboard with 25 points.
Also making waves was Thetford, who faced off against Hazen and clinched a 58-44 victory, representing their back-to-back championship success in D-III. Hunter Clay led the charge with a commendable total of 19 points.
The Danville team couldn’t be overlooked, as they took down West Rutland 55-42, marking their first title in five years and adding another feather to their cap with a total of eight overall titles. Star player Landen Fournier dazzled with his seven 3-pointers and 23 points overall.
