ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Denver Broncos made a significant addition to their roster with the selection of tight end Caleb Lohner using the 241st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 250 pounds, Lohner is a promising talent who only began his football journey in 2024. In that season, he made a quick impact by catching four passes — each resulting in a touchdown, including a notable two-point conversion. His first game featured an impressive 20-yard touchdown catch, marking the start of his football career with a bang.

Since being drafted, Lohner has expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Broncos organization. “I couldn’t have been happier,” he said. “I just wanted an opportunity, and I genuinely believe that wherever I am — and now being part of the Broncos organization — I’m going to do everything I can to help win.” Despite his limited football experience, he has developed a strong passion for the game, describing it as a lifelong dream come true.

Before stepping into the world of football, Lohner played basketball at both BYU and Baylor. His transition to football came after encouragement from coaches at the University of Utah, where he recognized his potential as a high-level tight end. “It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” Lohner remarked about his time at Utah, crediting the football program and coaching staff for their belief in him.

With Lohner’s arrival, he expands the Broncos’ tight end group, which includes familiar names such as Nate Adkins, Evan Engram, Lucas Krull, Adam Trautman, and Thomas Yassmin. Earlier in the draft, the Broncos also added linebacker Que Robinson and punter Jeremy Crawshaw to reinforce their roster.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton shared his excitement about the new additions and highlighted the importance of bringing in the right players. Reflecting on Lohner’s selection, he indicated that he hopes to replicate the success they had with previous tight end talent, referencing former All-Pro Jimmy Graham. “If it turns out like the last one did, then we’d be real excited,” Payton noted.

The NFL Draft was an eventful one for the Broncos, who continue to bolster their team as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
