But that’s not all! Several teams are lacing up their spikes and heading out of state to compete in exciting events across Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Utah. Among them, a select group of standout student-athletes from Wyoming will represent the state at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational in California, an event noted for its competitive spirit and athletic excellence.

Highlights from the GRHS Track and Field Invite

This past weekend, the iconic Green River High School played host to the GRHS Track and Field Invite, which included teams from Evanston, Farson-Eden, Pinedale, Rawlins, Riverton, and Rock Springs. The competition was fierce, and athletes pushed their limits on the track.

When the dust settled, it was Rock Springs who claimed victory in both the boys’ and girls’ team scores. For the girls, Rock Springs scored 160.50 points, followed by Riverton with 127.50 points and Green River close behind at 124 points. The boys’ division saw a similar story with Rock Springs leading the charge with an impressive 197 points, while Riverton secured 163 points.

Individual performances were nothing short of spectacular. Brynn Bider from Rock Springs had a phenomenal day, winning the 100 meters, 200 meters, and the long jump. Dalton Marincic, also from Rock Springs, excelled in the same way, taking home victories in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and being part of the winning 4×100 relay team. Green River’s very own Lillian Allison swept the throwing events, showcasing tremendous talent.

A Glimpse Beyond Wyoming

In Nebraska, the Mitchell Invite saw Lingle-Ft. Laramie’s boys finish 7th and the girls 10th, with a commendable 3rd place finish in the 4×100 relays. Meanwhile, at the Sugar-Salem Invite in Idaho, the Star Valley Boys stood proudly in 2nd place, with girls following closely at 4th. Individual stars like Hayden Morgan and Preston Ross shined through with their wins in the 110 hurdles and 400 meters respectively.

Cheyenne’s Okie Blanchard Invite will draw in local talent, while the TR Invite at Tongue River High School promises to be an exciting event.

No discussion of the state’s high-flying track and field scene would be complete without mentioning Kavin Hoff from Natrona, who continues to dazzle spectators with his pole vaulting prowess. Having recently broken his school record twice, he’s set his sights on the overall state record, proving that Wyoming talent is not just local but thrives on national platforms as well.

With the action only ramping up, there will undoubtedly be more stories of grit, glory, and guts.
