Last season, track and field took the spotlight as the largest high school sport in Minnesota, with over 32,000 student-athletes participating!

Last year’s state meet was nothing short of thrilling, especially with athletes like Gabriella Keefer from St. Michael-Albertville making waves in the Class 3A 100-meter race, finishing in an impressive 11.96 seconds to take second place. These phenomenal performances are what inspire young athletes, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.

Unmatched Dominance

The Frontier girls track team has been on a winning streak, remaining unbeaten in dual meets since 2021 and consistently ruling the Intercounty League. Meanwhile, their male counterparts, the Redhawk boys, have also shown resilience, having not lost a meet since returning from COVID-19 disruptions. Both teams have secured second place at the Western Mass. Div. II Championship Meet for two straight years, showcasing their continuous growth and development.

Spotlight on Exceptional Athletes

As the new season kicks off, many athletes on the Frontier boys team are capturing attention with their impressive track records. Among them, Evan Hedlund made a notable impact last spring, taking eighth in the 800 meters and fifth in the mile at the MIAA Div. 6 state meet. Additionally, Ben Cachiguango shone bright, finishing fifth in the 110 hurdles at states. Other athletes such as Charles Dennis in distance events, Julian Adams in throws, and Garrett Dredge in jumps are all ready to take their performances to the next level this year.

On the Frontier girls team, there’s an impressive roster of returning athletes who are eager to make their mark again this year. Standouts such as Madelyn Antes, who competes in the 400 hurdles, and Hannah Davis, known for the 100 hurdles and triple jump, are expected to deliver exciting performances.
