Cheerful Competition: Wyoming High School Track and Field Faces Spring Challenges
As spring blooms across Wyoming, the excitement of the 2025 high school track and field season is palpable. However, in the midst of all that energetic hustle and bustle, schools are finding their schedules a bit tangled thanks to Spring Break. The third week of the season is filled with a variety of scheduled meets, but many athletes are facing cancellations and postponements that might leave them sidelined.
Meets This Week
Track enthusiasts can look forward to competitions taking place in Casper, Rock Springs, Glenrock, Greybull, and Buffalo this week, making for an exciting atmosphere! Some schools have chosen to compete in neighboring states like Colorado, Idaho, Nebraska, or Utah, undoubtedly eager for a shot at some amazing competition.
Unfortunately, not every scheduled event is able to go on as planned. The NORTH SUMMIT HIGH SCHOOL MEET in Coalville, UT, which featured the Lyman team, has been canceled, leaving athletes and fans alike disappointed.
Major Results from Casper
The excitement persists at the GLEN LEGLER EARLY BIRD meet hosted at Natrona County High School in Casper, where teams from across the region gathered to compete. On the girls’ side, Brooklyn Ausmus from Torrington and Kate Lewis from Laramie both showcased their talents by winning two events each. Meanwhile, in the boys’ division, Logan Borden from Natrona County and Raynor Ranum from Campbell County also won two events each!

The boys’ team didn’t fare as well, coming in 13th with just 10 points. Notably, Addison Barnes emerged a star, taking first in the 400 meters and 300 hurdles while also achieving strong finishes in long jump and 100 hurdles.
The BILL GERARD MEMORIAL at Greybull High School brought together a host of teams, with the Thermopolis girls finishing on top with 94 points. Their boys’ counterparts dominated as well, racking up a whopping 180.5 points.
