In Boulder, Colorado, Deion Sanders, head coach of the Buffaloes football team, is weighing in on the upcoming NFL Draft where his son, Shedeur Sanders, is expected to be a first-round pick. Deion has made it clear that he will not interfere with Shedeur’s decision on which team to play for in the NFL.

Earlier in the process, Deion had hinted that he would advise his son against joining specific teams, suggesting he preferred to keep options open. However, during a recent discussion on a sports show, he stated, “Honestly, Shedeur has told me, he’s talked to me intently about all the visits he’s had with all the teams. So, I know where his heart is.”

Deion expressed his satisfaction with whatever team selects Shedeur come April 24, saying, “If it’s New York, it’s New York. If it’s Tennessee, if it’s Cleveland, if it’s still the Raiders, if it’s New Orleans… I’m happy with it, because I know what he’s going to do to the organization.”

When asked if he would try to “orchestrate” Shedeur’s landing spot, Deion asserted, “No, because that’s not God’s will right now. I want Shedeur to do what he’s consistently done — excel against all odds.” He added that the skepticism surrounding Shedeur only fuels his desire to prove the doubters wrong.

It’s noteworthy that Deion compared the situation to Eli Manning’s draft experience back in 2004, pointing out that the context for young quarterbacks can influence decisions about where to play. Manning was drafted by the Chargers but made it clear he would not play for them, leading to his trade to the Giants.

As the draft approaches, Shedeur Sanders is projected to be picked early, possibly within the first round. With the excitement building, all eyes will be on him to see where his journey in the NFL will begin.
