This past March 17, 2025, the vibrant city of Carbon lit up with athletic spirit as the Carbon High School track and field team hosted the highly anticipated Farm Bureau Invitational! With a chilly morning giving way to bright sunshine, and even a surprise sprinkle of snow, the day was truly an adventure for athletes, spectators, and families alike.

A Day of Achievement

The event welcomed 14 other schools, turning the track into a hotbed of fierce competition. The Carbon girls’ team showcased their talent, finishing a commendable second overall in points, while the boys’ team secured fifth place. The fierce competition saw the Union Cougars leading both the girls’ and boys’ varsity categories with impressive scores of 134 and 120.5 points respectively.

For the girls, Carbon scored 101.5 points, edging out Richfield, North Summit, and Uintah with scores of 85, 59.5, and 51.5 points. Meanwhile, the boys’ team posted 66.5 points, just shy of Juab’s 67 and behind Uintah’s 78. It was a nail-biting contest across the board!

Relay Highlights

The relay races were a spectacle of excitement. The Carbon girls dominated the track with victories in the 4×400 meter and SMR 1600-meter relays, showcasing their teamwork and speed. The boys also put on a show, finishing third in both the 4×400 meter and SMR 1600-meter relays, proving that Carbon is a force to be reckoned with in every event.

Individual Star Performers

Stepping into the individual events, several Carbon athletes stood out! Gianna White sped her way to victory, taking home the gold in the girls’ 400m with a stellar time of 1:04. Not to be outdone, Rozlyn Stowe clinched wins in both the 800m and 1600m events, showcasing her versatility with remarkable times of 2:24 and 5:20.

On the boys’ side, Maxwell Carlson and Evan Criddle made their mark with impressive performances in the 800m, finishing second and tenth respectively. Meanwhile, Dallin Humes demonstrated his stamina with a notable seventh-place finish in the 1600m.
