In the midst of this thrilling atmosphere, the voting for the Central Florida High School Baseball Player of the Week is officially open! For those who are passionate about supporting local talent, make sure to cast your vote before the deadline on March 9, 2025. Recently, Andrew Walker from Eustis was celebrated as the winner for the week of February 17-22, 2025. His hard work and determination were unanimously recognized, leaving us all wondering who will shine the brightest next!

A Roundup of Stellar Performances

With a total of 19 incredible athletes nominated from various counties based on their performances between February 24 and March 1, there’s no shortage of talent to praise. Among the standout nominees is a 6-foot-3 sophomore who delivered a phenomenal one-hitter against Boone, achieving an impressive 12 strikeouts that secured an 8-0 victory for his team. Talk about taking the mound with confidence!

Additionally, a 6-foot-4 senior showcased his skills by scattering just four hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out 11 batters to help his team take down Loganville, GA, in a close 4-3 showdown. It’s clear that these pitchers are bringing their A-game!

Batting prowess has also been on full display. One sophomore went 2-for-3, notching a triple along with 1 run and 2 RBIs against East River, leading his team to a narrow 5-4 win.
