Defending Champions and Preseason Favorites

In the 4A classification, all eyes are on Snow Canyon, the defending champions. Despite graduating a whopping 13 seniors, head coach Reed Secrist is feeling quite optimistic about his underclassmen stepping up to the plate this year. Meanwhile, Union has snagged the 3A favorite spot, just barely edging out Juab by one vote. With seven returning contributors from their championship run last season, Union is looking to keep that winning streak alive.

Moving up the ranks, Brighton stands tall as the preseason favorite in the 5A classification. After securing the title of runners-up in the 2024 state tournament, they’ve only lost four seniors, making their lineup even stronger with 12 returning varsity players. Key pitchers like Case Beames, Miles Layton, and Josh Mawhinney are poised to make significant impacts in the games ahead.

In the 2A category, South Sevier looks like a force to be reckoned with. Sporting a solid returning senior class after coming up just short in last year’s final against Kanab, they’re eager for another shot at glory.
