MINNETONKA, MN — The local football scene is buzzing with excitement as Caleb Francois, a talented junior quarterback from Minnetonka, has made his college choice public. Francois, who is known for his impressive athleticism and playmaking ability, has committed to Iowa State University following his senior year. This announcement was made via social media platform X, in which he expressed his anticipation for the next chapter in his football career.

Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 190 pounds, Francois led the Skippers to an impressive performance last season, culminating in a Class 6A state football championship game appearance. Although the Skippers fell short in the final match against Maple Grove, losing 28-21, Francois showcased his skills throughout the postseason. He helped his team secure a 48-27 win over Anoka in the semifinals, where he had a stellar performance, rushing for 283 yards and scoring five touchdowns.

Francois’s ability to execute the read-option offense allowed him to rush for a total of 1,624 yards and 24 touchdowns during the season. His passing stats were also noteworthy, completing 828 yards and throwing for seven touchdowns. Interestingly, even with such a strong rushing game, he also caught a pass for a 12-yard touchdown in a decisive 49-7 victory over Rochester Mayo during the playoffs.

Caleb Francois is not alone in heading to Iowa State; Ethan Beckman, a 6-5, 330-pound offensive tackle from Prior Lake, also committed to the Cyclones in November. The increasing talent heading to Iowa State highlights the school’s growing reputation as a destination for elite high school football prospects.

As the countdown continues to the next season, fans and coaches alike are eager to see how Francois will impact the Cyclones’ offense with his versatile abilities once he steps onto the college football field.
