In Boise, excitement is brewing as local football star Jax Tanner continues to make waves in the sports world. The offensive lineman for the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies has recently been honored as an All-American by a major sports entity, solidifying his place among the best high school football players in the country. Out of numerous contenders, Tanner earned one of the coveted 37 spots, highlighting his exceptional skills on the field.

Tanner, a 6-foot-4, 275-pound junior tackle, has been a dominant force in Idaho football, starting every game since his freshman year. He has consistently showcased his talent, making the All-Idaho first team for the last two seasons. His defensive performance is particularly impressive; over the past two seasons, he has not allowed a single sack.

Last fall, Tanner racked up an astonishing 115 pancake blocks, driving opponents to the ground and helping lead the Grizzlies to the 6A state semifinals and clinching the 6A SIC championship. His prowess on the field has caught the attention of major college programs, landing him 24 Division I scholarship offers from schools including the likes of Michigan, Oregon, Auburn, and USC. Notably, Boise State was one of the first universities to extend an offer to the homegrown talent.

While Tanner has garnered national recognition, he remains a standout in his local community. Timberline coach Ian Smart praised Tanner’s versatility and strength, noting that he is a significant player that any opposing team must strategize around. As the only player from Idaho selected to this All-American team, Tanner’s achievement is especially remarkable, considering the majority of selections came from well-known football states like California, Florida, and Texas.

As Tanner continues to shine both locally and nationally, the football community eagerly anticipates his future contributions at the collegiate level.
