Cowboys Making Staffing Changes with Ken Dorsey Expected to Join Coaching Staff
Dallas, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys are in the process of putting together a new coaching staff as they prepare for the upcoming NFL season. Recent reports indicate that they are working on bringing in Ken Dorsey, a former offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns. Dorsey is expected to take on a role focused on the passing game, which is crucial for helping the team bounce back after a disappointing previous season.
The Cowboys have already made headway by hiring Klayton Adams as their new offensive coordinator. Adams, who is 41 years old, comes from the Arizona Cardinals where he served as the offensive line coach for the past two seasons. However, with Adams lacking prior experience as an offensive coordinator in the NFL, the addition of Dorsey seems to be a strategic move to bolster the team’s offensive plans.
At 43, Dorsey has a wealth of experience in coaching. He was the Bills offensive coordinator during the 2022 and 2023 seasons and briefly ran the offense in Cleveland in 2024. Despite being let go midway through the 2023 season with the Bills and shortly after the 2024 season with the Browns, Dorsey has a notable background. He previously enjoyed a successful coaching stint with the Carolina Panthers, where he was instrumental in developing star quarterback Cam Newton during his MVP season in 2015.
In his upcoming role with the Cowboys, Dorsey is poised to work closely with Dak Prescott, the franchise quarterback who faced a challenging 2024 season due to injury. Last year, the Cowboys finished 21st in the NFL in scoring, along with struggling in rushing and red zone efficiency. The hope is that Dorsey’s expertise will help improve the Cowboys’ offensive production and help Prescott return to form.
The Cowboys are making significant adjustments to ensure they address their offensive shortcomings from last season, and the addition of Dorsey is seen as a promising direction for the team.
