In Texas, a new football star is making waves as he heads to the collegiate level. Grayson Rigdon, a celebrated high school football player, has just signed with Arizona State University, choosing the Sun Devils over several competitive programs, including Houston and NC State. Rigdon’s remarkable high school career is nothing short of legendary; he is often regarded as the best 6-man football player in Texas history. Over his four years, he led his teams to four state championships and accumulated an outstanding record of 59 wins and just one loss.
Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 185 pounds, Rigdon is a versatile athlete capable of excelling at multiple positions on the field. After three successful seasons in 6-man football, he transferred to Columbus High School for his senior year to play in the 11-man format. His impact was immediate. Rigdon guided Columbus to an impressive 15-1 record this past season and claimed the Class 3A DI UIL Texas state championship. Not only did he shine on the gridiron, but he also exhibited his athletic prowess on the basketball court, currently averaging 30.5 points per game.
Arizona State football coach Kenny Dillingham has big plans for Rigdon, who is expected to make a significant impact on the team as they look forward to the upcoming season. With his dual-threat capabilities and proven track record, fans of the Sun Devils are excited to see what this young athlete will bring to the table.
As Rigdon begins this new chapter in Tempe, he carries with him the hopes and dreams of a football legend in the making.
