LaVista Transfers to Lincoln-Way East for Senior Football Season After Stellar Run at Libertyville High School

Lincoln-Way East, IL – Wide receiver LaVista has officially announced his transfer from Libertyville High School to Lincoln-Way East for his final high school football season in 2025. In a heartfelt post on social media, LaVista expressed his gratitude towards Libertyville and Coach Shack, stating, “I want to thank everyone at Libertyville for the past 11 years of football, and Coach Shack for being a prominent figure in my life. Libertyville will always be home.”

LaVista had an impressive season in 2024, finishing with 60 catches for 1,447 yards and 24 touchdowns. These standout statistics earned him honorable mention honors from the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association. During his sophomore year, he also put up strong numbers, recording 47 receptions for 1,091 yards and 15 touchdowns.

This talented receiver played alongside QB Quinn Schambow, who was recognized as the 2024 Lake County News-Sun’s Football Player of the Year. However, Schambow has now completed his high school football eligibility and will be focusing on baseball at Oklahoma State. LaVista will now be teaming up with Jonas Williams, a promising quarterback who has committed to the Oregon Ducks. The two have built a solid rapport since sixth grade, having played together in basketball and 7-on-7 football.

Lincoln-Way East had a remarkable season last year, finishing with an 11-1 record and advancing to the Class 8A state championship semifinals. The team was ranked as the fourth-best in Illinois high school football according to the On3 Composite Team Rankings.

Looking ahead, LaVista has several college options on the table. He has received offers from Toledo, Marshall, and Akron while also visiting Nebraska unofficially last November. It will be exciting to see how his time at Lincoln-Way East unfolds and what opportunities lie ahead for this talented athlete.
