Mobile, Ala. – On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, two standout defensive linemen, Jourdin Crawford from Parker and Jared Smith from Thompson, were hard at work practicing for the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic. Both players have made a name for themselves in high school football and are gearing up to showcase their talents in the upcoming all-star game.
Recently, six Alabama high school football players were recognized on the annual MaxPreps All-America team announced on Monday, including Crawford and Smith. Crawford’s impressive high school career at Parker concluded with him earning multiple accolades, including a 6A championship MVP title, having tallied 90 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, six sacks, and a safety. He is also a finalist for the 6A Lineman of the Year award and has signed with Auburn.
Meanwhile, Smith had an equally remarkable season at Thompson, where he recorded 89 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks. His efforts earned him recognition as a first-team all-state selection. Like Crawford, Smith is also a participant in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic and is a finalist for the 7A Lineman of the Year award.
The all-star game gives these talented athletes an opportunity to compete on a larger stage and gain exposure. The event features some of the best high school players from Alabama and Mississippi, giving them a chance to impress college scouts and coaches.
