North Central (IL) Wins DIII Football Championship
In a thrilling showdown held at Tommy B. Smith Stadium in Shenandoah, Texas, the North Central College Cardinals claimed victory over the Whitworth Pirates with a final score of 42-17. This win marks the Cardinals’ first DIII Football Championship, showcasing their incredible season and dedication.
The game started with North Central striking first, as quarterback Michael Kauffman connected with receiver Juan Duran for a touchdown, giving the Cardinals an early lead. Kauffman finished the game with a solid performance, throwing for over 300 yards and tallied four touchdowns, leading the Cardinals’ powerful offense.
Whitworth managed to put points on the board with a touchdown by running back Jared Nuss, but the Cardinals’ defense, anchored by Sam Kincaid, quickly responded putting a halt to Whitworth’s momentum. The Cardinals were relentless, extending their lead with touchdowns from both Duran and running back Kyle Dyer.
