Lions’ Stars Goff and St. Brown Lead High School Standouts Shining at Pro Bowl

Detroit is buzzing with excitement as two standout players from the Lions, Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown, prepare for the Pro Bowl this year. Goff, a former Marin Catholic standout, is making his fifth appearance in the prestigious game. During his time at Marin, he totaled an impressive 7,687 yards and 93 touchdowns over three seasons. His consistent performance throughout the season has set the stage for his continued success in the NFL.

St. Brown, who prepped at Mater Dei in Orange County, has proven to be a serious threat on the field this season. In high school, he racked up 1,320 receiving yards and scored an impressive 20 touchdowns. Now, he’s showcasing that talent as he joins his teammate Goff for the Pro Bowl.

Another rookie making waves this year is Jayden Daniels, quarterback for the Washington Commanders. Daniels, who set CIF Southern Section records during his time at Cajon with 210 touchdowns and over 17,600 total yards, is making a splash in the NFL with his exceptional performance this season. His college career at LSU culminated in winning the 2023 Heisman Trophy, further solidifying his reputation as an elite talent.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings are celebrating Sam Darnold, another former high school standout from San Clemente. As a Triton, Darnold showcased his versatility by accumulating over 3,000 yards and 39 TDs in his senior year, along with a noteworthy 800 rushing yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, Vita Vea from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is recognized for his hard-hitting performance after an impressive high school career at Milpitas, where he recorded 89 tackles and eight sacks. Similarly, Fred Warner of the San Francisco 49ers had an outstanding high school career at Mission Hills, eventually gaining All-State recognition.

With exciting talent like Joe Mixon from the Cincinnati Bengals and Josh Allen representing the Buffalo Bills, both players had incredible high school careers. Mixon rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his last three seasons, while Allen threw for 3,061 yards and rushed for 10 TDs as a senior.

As the Pro Bowl approaches, the connection between high school success and professional achievements is evident. Young athletes are proving that hard work and dedication pay off, as they shine on one of the biggest stages in the sport.
