Rogers, who played as an all-state linebacker for the Hamilton Huskies, led his high school team to back-to-back state championships in 2003 and 2004. He went on to play college football at South Dakota State, where he made a significant impact. In just two years at the helm, he led the Jackrabbits to an FCS national championship and enjoyed a remarkable coaching record of 27-3.
According to reports, Rogers has signed a five-year contract with Washington State, earning an average salary of $1.57 million per year. The deal has been confirmed, marking an exciting transition period for the Cougars as they navigate changes in the conference landscape. The Cougars are one of only two original teams remaining in the former Pac-12 Conference, alongside Oregon State.
