Highmark Stadium Hosts High School Football Celebration
Buffalo, NY – On December 29, 2024, the Buffalo Bills dedicated their regular season game against the New York Jets to local high school football. The event celebrated the team’s commitment to the community by inviting high school football guests from the surrounding areas to enjoy the game.
In a delightful highlight, Messiah Hampton, a standout wide receiver from Monroe High School, received his official invitation to the upcoming Nike “The Next Ones” Athlete Invitational in New Orleans. This moment marked a significant achievement in his young football career.
Additionally, Stephanie Strassner, the coach of the Bishop Kearney High School Girls Flag Football team, was honored with tickets to Super Bowl LIX. This recognition comes as a reward for leading her team to victory in the first-ever NY Division 2 State Championship, making it a proud moment for both her and the school.
Furthermore, the Bills teamed up with Legends Global Merchandise to showcase the hard work of 22 Varsity Football Coaches from the Buffalo and Rochester regions. The Coaches of the Week initiative spotlighted outstanding leaders, with Jeremy Zimmer of Sweet Home High School and Stephen Lian of Brighton High School being named Coach of the Year in their respective areas. Their dedication to fostering talent in young athletes has not gone unnoticed.
In addition to these individual accolades, the Bills celebrated the students and teachers involved in their Play 60 Charged Up by Wegmans program. Participants from local schools were invited to the game and recognized during a special pre-game ceremony.
