In 2024, a remarkable group of freshman high school football players across the nation have shown their talent and hard work by earning spots on the All-Freshman Team. Each player had standout performances that not only helped their teams succeed but also caught the attention of coaches and scouts.
Leading the pack is quarterback Creed Barrett from Washington, Oklahoma, who guided his team to a state championship, completing an impressive 174-of-260 passes for 3,315 yards, throwing 38 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Barrett is also set to compete at the Navy National Combine next month in San Antonio, Texas.
Running back Tay Starks from Munford, Tennessee, had a stellar season as well, rushing for 1,483 yards and finding the end zone 23 times. His teammate, Douglas Wansley of South Pike, Mississippi, also made waves by rushing for 1,508 yards and scoring 14 touchdowns.
In the receiving department, Damarion Mays from Life Oak Cliff, Texas, caught 68 passes for 1,640 yards and 14 touchdowns, while Eric McFarland from IMG Academy, Florida, also impressed with 36 catches for 574 yards and eight touchdowns.
On the offensive line, several freshman stood out, including Fenway Cochrane from West Orange, Florida, who only allowed 1.5 sacks all season. Hunter Hill, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound offensive guard from Peach County, Georgia, played a pivotal role in his team’s success as well.
Defensively, Aden Johnson from South Broward, Florida, had an impressive year, racking up 93 tackles and 13 sacks. Meanwhile, Jack Farhat from Brock, Texas, shone as a linebacker with 131 tackles and multiple forced turnovers.
The All-Freshman Team showcases the incoming talent in high school football, promising exciting futures for these young athletes as they grow and develop in their respective programs. As the season moves forward, it will be interesting to see how these players continue to progress and make a name for themselves at the next level.
