Rosters Announced for 78th Montana East-West Shrine Game

Billings, MT – Exciting news for football fans in Montana as the rosters for the 78th Montana East-West Shrine Game have been officially unveiled. This anticipated event is set to take place on Saturday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium in Great Falls.

This year, each team will consist of 41 players, including one standout player from Canada. The East team will be guided by Malta’s very own Nick Oxarart, who recently completed his ninth season as the Mustangs’ head coach. Under his leadership, the Mustangs clinched the Class B state championship, marking their first title since 2006.

The West team will be led by Kyle Mihelish of Helena Capital. Mihelish has achieved notable success during his decade-long tenure with the Bruins, including winning the Class AA championship in both 2022 and 2024.

The players selected to participate in the Shrine Game were nominated by their high schools and coaches throughout Montana. This game is recognized as the state’s premier all-star football matchup and has a rich history dating back to 1947. The event not only showcases the talents of young athletes but also contributes significantly to a noble cause. Proceeds from the game help fund the orthopedic and burn care unit at the Shriners Children’s Hospital in Spokane, WA, where care is provided regardless of a family’s ability to pay. Over the past decade, the Shrine Game has raised more than $1 million for the hospital.

Last year, the West team triumphed with a score of 48-20 in Billings. They have now won four consecutive games against the East, though the all-time series still favors the East with a record of 41-36.
