High School Football Championships Showcase Revenge and Redemption in Foxboro

Foxboro, MA – December 6, 2024 marked an exciting day for high school football as multiple championship games took place, showcasing the determination and spirit of various teams across the divisions. This year’s games highlighted a common theme: revenge and redemption.

Starting with Catholic Memorial, they bounced back from a tough loss last year to Marshfield in the Division 2 state semifinal. This time, they ended King Philip’s impressive 25-game winning streak, proving that hard work pays off.

Scituate also experienced a transformation this season. After giving up 62 points to Duxbury in the championship game last year, the Sailors turned the tables, defeating them this time around for the Division 4 state title.

Shawsheen, who faced Foxboro in the Division 5 championship, turned a 30-point loss from last year into a triumphant shutout victory, claiming their first state title in over a decade. Similarly, Hudson avenged last year’s heartbreaker against Fairhaven in the Division 6 state final, turning the tables to snag the championship.

Other teams reaffirmed their dominance; Xaverian defended their Division 1 title with a narrow 14-7 victory over Needham. The West Boylston Lions celebrated their third straight state title, defeating Randolph 22-16, and coach Mike Ross celebrated his sixth championship.

The North Attleboro Red Rocketeers delivered a powerful performance against Mansfield, winning 35-0 to secure their first title in over 20 years.

In other notable action, Needham showcased their strength against St. John’s Prep, while BC High managed to outsprint Springfield Central. The playoff excitement continued as Reading rallied to edge out Milford, and Wayland survived a high-scoring game against Burlington.

As the high school football season wraps up, the stories of redemption and victory will resonate with players, coaches, and fans alike. Each team and player embraced their journey, proving that every game counts, regardless of the outcome.
