In Loyalsock, former high school star and current Villanova quarterback Connor Watkins officially announced on Tuesday evening that he is declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. His statement was shared on Twitter, where he expressed gratitude to those who shaped his journey in football.

Watkins started his college career strong at Villanova, where he led the Wildcats to a successful 10-4 season, earning a spot in the Division I FCS playoffs. The team had a notable victory against Eastern Kentucky, winning 22-17, before facing a tough challenge against the No. 6-seeded UIW, where they lost 13-6.

This year, Watkins recorded impressive stats, completing 176 passes out of 342 attempts, accumulating 2,102 passing yards, tossing 13 touchdowns, and throwing just five interceptions. His consistency over the past three years has been remarkable, with each season surpassing the 2,000 passing yard mark. Overall, he has tallied 6,840 passing yards, 49 touchdowns, and 26 interceptions during his time at Villanova.

Before his college career, Watkins was recognized as an all-state quarterback while playing at Loyalsock.
