Cleveland, Ohio – The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association has released its 2024 All-Ohio high school football teams for Division VI and VII, showcasing some of the top talent from high schools across the state. This week, teams for Divisions IV and V are set to be published on Tuesday, while Divisions II and III will follow on Wednesday. Lastly, Division I will conclude the exciting announcements on Thursday.
As part of the awards, Cincinnati Moeller’s quarterback, Matt Ponatoski, was crowned Mr. Football last week, a significant honor reflecting his exceptional performance throughout the season.
Among the standout players, AJ Bower from Galion Northmor earned the title of Offensive Player of the Year, while Matthew Heatwole from Dalton received the Defensive Player of the Year accolade. The Coaches of the Year recognition went to Dave Carroll of Milford Center Fairbanks and Tiger LaVerde from Kirtland.
This year’s rosters highlight a number of talented athletes. For the quarterback position, AJ Bower (6-1, 175, sr.) leads the charge alongside William Zeedyk (5-10, 160, jr.) from Sherwood Fairview and Baylen Blockberger (6-4, 180, sr.) of Coldwater. The running backs are also impressive with players like Henry Ohlinger (6-1, 215, jr.) from Grandview Heights and Ryker Green (6-0, 185, sr.) from Milford Center Fairbanks earning spots on the roster.
Notable defensive players include Braddock Lusher (6-2, 230, sr.) from Grandview Heights on the defensive line and Cam Vickers (6-1, 200, sr.) from Mount Gilead at linebacker. The accolades also extend to offensive linemen like Eli Potter (6-5, 255, sr.) from Mechanicsburg and kickers such as Cameron Manner (6-1, 160, sr.) from Huron.
