Las Vegas High School Football Coach Arrested on Serious Charges

LAS VEGAS — A significant incident has shaken the local community as a high school football coach was arrested due to serious allegations involving a student. Antwone Washington, 45, was taken into custody by Las Vegas Metro police and faces a total of nine felony charges.

Among the charges are four counts of using or allowing a minor, who is over the age of 14, to create pornography. Additionally, Washington faces three counts of statutory sexual seduction involving a person over 21, a first-degree kidnapping charge, and a charge for attempting to contact a minor in an authoritative role for sexual purposes. These details were confirmed through court records.

Washington was the head football coach at Valley High School and also served as a campus security monitor. Following his arrest, he was held at the Clark County Detention Center, and he was scheduled to appear in court the following morning.

In an effort to keep parents informed, the principal of Valley High School, Kimberly Perry-Carter, sent out an email addressing the situation. She emphasized that Valley High School prioritizes the safety of its students and highlighted that the coach’s employment has been paused as a part of the ongoing investigation. The email stated, “Because this is a police investigation, we do not have additional information to share.”

According to standard protocol for such cases, Washington has been assigned to home without pay while the investigation unfolds. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is leading the inquiry, and the school administration is committed to cooperating fully with law enforcement.

This incident has raised serious concerns within the school community, as the safety and well-being of students remain a top priority.
