This past Friday,, a remarkable achievement came from Trojans senior Tyrese Woodgett, who set a new state record for single-game rushing yards with a jaw-dropping 605 yards on 20 carries, along with seven touchdowns in his team’s victory over Sequoyah. Not far behind, Rams senior wide receiver Alex Sanchez shined in their 38-14 win over Collins Hill, catching five passes including three touchdowns while racking up 96 receiving yards.
The Raiders also celebrated a win, thanks to senior running back Nick Woodford, who carried the ball 35 times for 374 yards and scored five touchdowns in their quarterfinal victory against Fannin County. Meanwhile, Eagles sophomore quarterback Teddy Jarrard led his team to a surprising upset against top-seed Savannah Christian, completing 31 of 51 passes for 327 yards and three touchdowns.
