Canton Hosts Exciting High School State Championship Games
Canton, Ohio is buzzing with excitement this week as the state championship games for high school football are set to take place at the renowned Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the matchups for seven championship games, where future stars will be crowned champions in various divisions.
All seven championship games will take place at the stadium, with the first game kicking off on Thursday, December 5 at 7 p.m. The match will feature Cincinnati Anderson with an undefeated record of 15-0 going against Avon, who also remains perfect at 15-0. Fans can expect a thrilling opening game as these two teams battle for the Division II title.
The excitement continues on Friday, December 6, with three more games scheduled. At 10:30 a.m., Jeromesville Hillsdale (14-1) will take on Maria Stein Marion Local (15-0) for the Division VII championship. Later that day at 3 p.m., Columbus Bishop Watterson (15-0) will face Toledo Central Catholic (14-1) for the Division III title, followed by the Division I showdown at 7:30 p.m., where Powell Olentangy Liberty (13-2) goes head-to-head with Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller (14-1).
On Saturday, December 7, the championship action wraps up with three more exciting games. At 10:30 a.m., Coldwater (14-1) will battle Kirtland (15-0), while the Division V championship at 3 p.m. will see Liberty Center (15-0) against Ironton (14-1). The day will conclude with the Division IV title game at 7:30 p.m., showcasing Gnadenhutten Indian Valley (15-0) facing Sandusky Perkins (14-1).
