High School Football Finals Shine at Ford Field in Detroit
Detroit was the place to be this weekend as the 2024 Michigan high school football finals took center stage at Ford Field. The indoor stadium, known as the home of the Detroit Lions, hosted all eight MHSAA playoff state title games over two exciting days, with four games on Friday and four on Saturday. Fans gathered to witness thrilling matchups that showcased some of the best young talent in Michigan.
The event kicked off on Friday with the Division 8 contest where Beal City delivered a strong performance, defeating Riverview Gabriel Richard with a final score of 43-14. In Division 4, Goodrich clinched the title decisively against Niles, finishing the game at 35-6.
Moving on to Division 6, Jackson Lumen Christi dominated Lansing Catholic with a score of 56-18, showcasing why they are a force to be reckoned with. The action continued in Division 2, where Orchard Lake St. Mary’s outplayed Byron Center to win 35-19.
Saturday saw more unforgettable moments, starting with Division 7 as Millington blanked Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central with a score of 24-0. Finally, in Division 1, Detroit Cass Tech defeated Hudsonville with an impressive score of 42-20.
