Columbus Prepares for High School Football State Semifinals
Columbus, Ohio — Excitement is building as the Ohio High School Athletic Association has revealed the matchups for the upcoming state semifinal football games, scheduled for Friday night, November 29, at 7 p.m. These games will determine which teams advance to the state championships taking place next week.
The Division I matchups feature some strong contenders. Lakewood St. Edward, who comes in with a record of 9-5, will face off against top-seeded Powell Olentangy Liberty (12-2) at Mansfield Arlin Field. Meanwhile, in Cincinnati, the highly regarded Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller (13-1) will compete against Centerville (11-3) at Cincinnati Princeton Jake Sweeney Automotive Stadium.

In Division II, the first game features the number one seed Sunbury Big Walnut (13-1) going up against Cincinnati Anderson (14-0) at Dayton Welcome Stadium. Another exciting matchup is between Akron Archbishop Hoban (12-2) and Avon (14-0) at the University of Akron InfoCision Stadium.
The action continues in Division III where Columbus Bishop Watterson (14-0) will take on London (14-0) at Ashville Teays Valley High School Viking Stadium. Also in this division, Youngstown Ursuline (13-1) will face Toledo Central Catholic (13-1) at Elyria Charities Field at Ely Stadium.
Meanwhile, Division IV will see Cincinnati Taft (12-2) face Gnadenhutten Indian Valley (14-0) at Historic Crew Stadium, and Sandusky Perkins (13-1) will go up against Cleveland Glenville (11-3) at Clyde High School’s Robert J. Bishop Jr. Stadium.
In Division V, Liberty Center (14-0) will square off against Canfield South Range (14-0) at Parma Byers Field at Robert Boulton Stadium, while Ironton (13-1) faces West Liberty-Salem (13-1) at Chillicothe High School Herrnstein Field.
The semifinal games for Division VI match Coldwater (13-1) against Bluffton (13-1) at Wapakoneta High School Mercy Health Wapak VFW Field. Kirtland (14-0) will take on Galion Northmor (14-0) at Minerva High School.
Finally, Division VII will feature Danville (12-2) against Jeromesville Hillsdale (13-1) at Shelby High School WAC Stadium, and Maria Stein Marion Local (14-0) will compete against Columbus Grove (14-0) at Lima Spartan Stadium.
