The New York Jets have officially wrapped up their season. The team’s struggles were evident, and many believed it was a uphill battle from the start due to organizational issues. Recently, both head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas were fired midseason after overseeing what owner Woody Johnson called “the most talented roster” in Jets history. Sadly, that talent did not translate into success on the field.
As for the future, all eyes are on Aaron Rodgers. It seems unlikely that he will choose to retire after such a rough season. Rodgers had a stellar career with the Green Bay Packers, including multiple MVP wins, and he certainly wouldn’t want to end things without giving it another shot. Following in the footsteps of former Packers quarterback Brett Favre, who struggled after joining the Jets before making a move to the Minnesota Vikings, Rodgers might consider a similar path. The Vikings only have one quarterback under contract for the 2025 season, rookie J.J. McCarthy, who is unproven at this level. If the Vikings can secure Rodgers, it could provide an interesting dynamic for both teams.
Looking at other matchups, Thursday night’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints appears to be a defensive showdown. The Steelers have a strong defense, and expectations are low for Saints quarterback Jameis Winston. However, tight end David Njoku is expected to have a productive night as the Steelers often struggle against tight ends.
Meanwhile, the Carolina Panthers are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite recent wins and positive vibes, they’re up against a motivated Chiefs team looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season. The Chiefs are likely to put up high numbers against a struggling Panthers defense, so expect them to score big.
Later in the week, the Miami Dolphins will host the New England Patriots. Both teams are aiming for solid performances, with Tua Tagovailoa expected to lead the Dolphins against a Pats defense trying to stop their momentum.
In NFC West action, the Arizona Cardinals are riding high with four straight wins and are primed for success against the Seattle Seahawks. The San Francisco 49ers will also be under pressure to deliver after their recent loss to the Seahawks.
As the NFL season continues, it’s shaping up to be an exciting few weeks ahead filled with potential surprises!
