COLUMBUS, Ohio – Exciting Matchups Set for High School Football Regionals
The Ohio High School Athletic Association has released the football regional semifinal playoff pairings for the upcoming games, stirring excitement among fans and players alike. These influential games are set to take place on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m., across various neutral sites, as teams vie for a spot in the state championships.
Tickets for the playoff games will be made available every Monday at www.ohsaa.org/tickets. Last week, during the first round, history was made as 45 lower-seeded teams managed to snatch victories on the road against higher-seeded opponents. Additionally, an impressive 11 teams followed up with wins during the regional quarterfinals last Friday.
The regional finals are slated for Friday, Nov. 22, while the state semifinals are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 29. The elite state championship games will take center stage at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton from Dec. 5-7, promising thrilling showdowns as teams seek to claim their titles.
In Division I, Region 1, the matchups feature 1. Mentor (12-0) facing 5. Canton McKinley (8-4) at Medina High School, while 3. Perrysburg (10-2) goes against 7. Lakewood St. Edward (7-5) at Elyria High School. Other notable games across various divisions include:
- Division II: 1. Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit (12-0) vs. 4. Austintown-Fitch (9-3) at Ravenna High School.
- Division III: 1. Youngstown Ursuline (11-1) vs. 4. Aurora (11-1) at North Canton Hoover High School.
- Division VI: 1. Kirtland (12-0) vs. 4. Columbia Station Columbia (10-2) at Brooklyn High School.
