Cincinnati High School Football Regional Semifinals Set for Nov. 15
CINCINNATI — The stage is set for nine regional semifinal games in the Greater Cincinnati area, as the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has announced the schedule for the third round of playoffs, taking place on November 15. These games will feature local high school football teams vying for a chance to reach the regional finals.
The sites for these neutral location games are determined by various factors, but a team’s seed, state rank, or overall record do not influence these decisions. Schools hosting the games will receive a stipend from the OHSAA and will manage revenues from concessions, parking, and program sales, while the OHSAA is responsible for officiating costs.
In Division I, Region 4, top-seeded Moeller (11-1) will play No. 4 Princeton (10-2) at Mason. This matchup is a rematch of their opening game on August 23, where Moeller claimed victory with a score of 38-21. Moeller, currently ranked No. 1 in the MaxPreps Ohio rankings, has made it to the Division I state semifinals for the last three seasons.
Another notable game will see No. 2 seed Lakota West (11-1) face off against No. 6 St. Xavier (9-3) at Princeton. This is also a rematch from Week 1, where Lakota West narrowly defeated St. Xavier 17-13. Lakota West aims to make its fifth consecutive regional final appearance.
In Division II, Region 8, top-seeded Anderson (12-0) will compete against No. 5 Mount Healthy (10-2) at Lakota East. Anderson is enjoying a perfect season, marking their first 12-0 record since 2009. The No. 2 seed La Salle (10-2) will face No. 6 Harrison (10-2) at Ross, with both teams eager to advance to the regional final.
In Division IV, Region 16, No. 5 Taft (10-2) will play No. 9 Indian Hill (9-3) at Milford. Taft is coming off a shutout win against Brookville, while Indian Hill pulled off an upset in their last game. The No. 6 seed Taylor (10-2) will also take on No. 10 Alter (7-5) at Fairfield Alumni Stadium, marking a significant achievement as Taylor reached a regional semifinal for the first time in program history.
Over in Division VI, Region 24, No. 5 St. Bernard-Elmwood Place (10-2) faces off against top-seeded Coldwater (11-1) at Trotwood-Madison in their semifinal matchup. St. Bernard-Elmwood Place is riding high after winning their first two playoff games. Additionally, Cincinnati Country Day (11-1), the No. 2 seed, is set to battle No. 3 Anna (9-3) at Monroe.
Finally, in Division VII, Region 28, Cincinnati College Prep (9-2) will take on No. 2 Minster (10-2) at Sidney High School’s Memorial Stadium. This marks a historic moment for Cincinnati College Prep as they contend for their first regional semifinal appearance.
The winners of each regional semifinal will advance to the regional finals on November 22 at a neutral location. Excitement builds as teams prepare for what promises to be an intense week of high school football.
