2024 Indiana High School Football Playoffs: Excitement Builds as Top Teams Gear Up for Championship Journey

Indianapolis, IN – As the 2024 Indiana high school football playoffs approach, the excitement is building among the top teams in the state. The On3 Massey Ratings have released their top 25 list as of October 21, showcasing the best squads gearing up for what will be pressure-filled matchups in the quest for the state championship.

The famed Bulldogs are holding on to the spot as Indiana’s top team, even after a recent loss to Hamilton Southeastern. In that game, quarterback Iosua Stephens showcased his skills by throwing for two touchdowns and running for 41 yards. Teammates Branden Sharpe, Avin Robinson, and Shakovon Sumpterbey also contributed with touchdowns. The Bulldogs finished the regular season with an impressive record of 8-1 and will square off against Avon in the first round of the Class 6A state tournament.

Meanwhile, the Shamrocks have rebounded after their previous encounter with top-ranked Brownsburg, winning three straight games, including a convincing 44-7 victory over Franklin Central. Quarterback Carsen Melvin had a stellar performance with 241 yards and two touchdowns. With their record also at 8-1, they are set to meet Harrison in the Class 6A tournament.

The Wildcats remained undefeated, recording a 24-14 win against Pike, with Izayveon Moore leading the charge with 18 carries for 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Their defense also put on a show, generating 15 tackles for losses and nine sacks against their opponent. They will face Lawrence Central on November 1.

The Warriors ended their regular season strong, overcoming the sixth-ranked Cathedral team with a final score of 34-28. Marcus Bell stole the show with three touchdowns, putting them in a good position as they prepare to meet Indianapolis Arsenal Technical in the first playoff game.

Despite a rocky finish to the season with three consecutive losses, the Trojans are ready for the playoffs and will travel to face Jeffersonville. Other notable teams like the Fighting Irish of Cathedral look to bounce back after a loss against Warren Central, hosting North Central in their playoff opener.
