Casper High School Sports Week 7 Recap

Casper, Wyoming – The excitement of high school football was palpable during Week 7, with the spotlight on thrilling matchups across the state. All but five games took place on Friday, showcasing the competitiveness of Wyoming football.

Among the notable clashes, six games featured teams ranked in the state, including two No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdowns in both Class 4A and Class 1A 9-Man. Fans were eager for action, and they got it!

In Class 4A, the top-ranked Sheridan team triumphed over Camilbell County with a final score of 41-14. Other standout performances saw Cheyenne East defeat Rock Springs 36-6, while Natrona County dominated Cheyenne South with an impressive 62-0 victory.

There were tight battles as well, with Cheyenne Central squeezing past Kelly Walsh 24-14, and Thunder Basin beating Laramie 47-14 to secure a solid win.

Moving on to Class 3A, Powell put up a strong fight against Jackson, winning 34-14. Meanwhile, Star Valley achieved a convincing 40-14 victory over Evanston. In a game featuring ranked teams, Riverton took down Torrington 28-12.

In Class 2A, there were some surprises. Mountain View, ranked first, fell to Thermopolis after a tough fought match ending 13-6. On the brighter side, Big Horn crushed Tongue River with an outstanding score of 55-6.

Meanwhile, in Class 1A 9-Man, Wright dominated Wyoming Indian with a staggering 64-6 score, while Lingle-Ft. Laramie narrowly edged out Pine Bluffs in a close match with a score of 30-27.

In Class 1A 6-Man, Burlington performed well against Riverside, winning 62-16, and Encampment also had a fantastic game against H.E.M. ending 71-24.

As attention turns to the upcoming games, it’s evident that Wyoming’s high school football teams are delivering exciting performances week after week. Fans look forward to the next round of action and the chance to see how each team continues to progress.
