Top Alabama High School Football Teams Maintain Dominance as Week 9 Approaches

As the city gears up for Week 9 of the 2024 high school football season, fans will be eager to see how the top-ranked teams perform. According to the latest rankings released by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, there have been no changes to the state’s elite teams. In both the Alabama High School Athletic Association and the Alabama Independent School Association, the frontrunners remained the same.

In Class 7A, Auburn continues to hold the number one spot with a perfect record of 7-0 and 18 first-place votes, accumulating a total of 216 points. Following closely are Central-Phenix City with a 6-1 record and Thompson at 6-2. In this class, the only other team to remain undefeated alongside Auburn is Austin, also sitting at 7-0.

For Class 6A, Saraland tops the list, boasting a 7-0 record and 14 first-place votes, totaling 201 points. They are closely pursued by Clay-Chalkville and Parker, both having solid records of 7-0 and 7-1, respectively.

Looking at Class 5A, Montgomery Catholic leads with a perfect 7-0 record and significant support from 13 first-place votes. They are matched by Guntersville and Central-Clay County who are also performing well with their respective records.

In Class 4A, Jackson stands strong with a record of 7-1 and leading the polls with 18 first-place votes, while Pleasant Grove follows at 6-1.

Furthermore, Class 3A showcases T.R. Miller at the top with a remarkable 8-0 record, while Class 2A sees Pisgah also maintaining a strong 7-0 performance. Finally, in the 1A category, Wadley stays undefeated at 7-0.
