OHSAA Releases Football Computer Ratings as Playoff Picture Begins to Take Shape

Columbus – The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has just released the latest weekly football computer ratings in preparation for Week 9 of the season. These ratings provide an insight into how teams stack up as the playoffs approach. The ratings began to be published from the fifth week of the season, and the final rankings will be presented on Sunday, Oct. 27. Following this report, the top 16 teams in each region will secure their spots in the playoffs, which takes place in November.

This week’s ratings include a total of 707 schools competing in the 11-player football format. The largest teams, totaling 72 schools, fall into Division I, while the rest are divided into other categories: Divisions II to VII, each consisting of approximately 106 schools.

The rankings reveal the top 18 schools in each region, listed by their division along with their records and average points scored. High school football fans can find all the details on how the ratings are calculated on the football page of the OHSAA website.

As the season winds down, excitement builds for players and fans alike. The final report on Oct. 27 will determine which schools will move on to the state playoffs.
