Tom Brady Becomes Minority Owner of Las Vegas Raiders Following Unanimous Approval

Las Vegas has a new minority owner, and it’s none other than legendary quarterback Tom Brady. During the NFL’s fall meetings on Tuesday, Brady was officially approved by NFL owners as a limited partner of the Las Vegas Raiders. He will hold a five percent stake in the team, although he and his partner had purchased a total of 10 percent.

This acquisition marks a significant move for Brady, who previously became a minority owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. His approval as an owner came with a unanimous 32-0 vote from other league owners, signaling strong support for the star player.

Alongside Brady, former Raiders defensive lineman Richard Seymour was also approved for a small ownership stake in the team. Seymour expressed his gratitude on social media, stating, “I’m deeply grateful—humbled and honored—to become an NFL owner. This is the mission of a lifetime, and I accept it with both purpose and pride.” He played for the Raiders from 2009 to 2012 before retiring.

Brady and businessman Tom Wagner finalized their purchase from Raiders owner Mark Davis last May, and securing the necessary votes was the last step. However, he will face some restrictions as he balances his new role with his broadcasting career. Brady is now a color commentator for Fox Sports but cannot attend any production meetings or have access to team facilities and players, which could affect his role during the upcoming season.

The Raiders have had a rocky start this season, currently sitting at 2-4 with victories over the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns. With Brady’s experience and insight, the team hopes to use his presence to boost their performance on and off the field.
